Why LunaHost

Made for players in Australia

Plenty of cheap hosts put Australian players on servers in the US or Singapore. We don't.

Close to your players

Your server runs here in Australia, not on the other side of the world. For players in Australia that means less lag than a server overseas.

Prices in Australian dollars

The price you see is the price you pay, in AUD. No exchange rate to work out and no surprise conversion fee from your bank.

A real person to talk to

Questions go to the person who built LunaHost, on Discord. No ticket queue and no script.

Always on, with the good stuff included

Unlike free hosts, there is no queue and no waiting for your server to start. Mods, plugins, backups and bringing your old world across are all included.

What you get

Everything you need to run a server, and nothing you don't

The panel is built around the handful of things you actually do every week: watch the console, change a file, add a mod, take a backup, and let a friend press the buttons when you are not around.

A live console

Watch the server talk in real time, and type straight back into it. Anything you would type at a terminal works here, from say hello to whitelist add.

Backups you can restore

Full snapshots of the world and your config, stored away from the machine your server runs on. Take one before you try something, and put it back in a click if it goes wrong.

Scheduled tasks

Set a nightly restart, or run a console command on a schedule. Hourly, daily, weekly or your own cron expression, with a warning in chat before it happens.

Start, stop, restart

One button each. A coloured dot tells you whether the server is running, starting or stopped, so you are never left guessing whether the last thing you pressed worked.

Mods and plugins

Search for what you want and install the latest build in one click. Everything you have added is listed in one place, so you can see what is on the server before you go looking for a crash.

Your files

Browse the folders, open the file you need and delete the ones you don't. No FTP client to set up and no separate password to keep somewhere safe.

Bring your friends in

Give someone access to one server without handing them the rest. Make them an admin if you want them to have the same buttons you do, and take it back whenever you like.

Sign in with Google

One button, no new password. The account you already use is the account that owns your servers, so there is nothing extra to lose or reset.

How it works

Three steps from nothing to a running world

01

Press the Google button. That is the whole sign-up. Your servers are tied to that account from then on.

02

Pick a size

Choose how much memory your server gets and give it a name. You pay monthly and can cancel whenever you like.

03

Start it and share it

We build it and hand you the address. Add your friends as members if they should be able to press the buttons too.

The console

Talk to the server, not to a support ticket

The console is the first thing you see when you open a server. It is the real server output, live, and the box underneath it sends real commands. If you know what you would type, you can type it.

  • Server output as it happens, not a log you download later
  • Send any command the server understands
  • Memory and CPU shown next to it, so a lag spike has context
[21:11:02] <Alex> can someone tp me
[21:11:20] Teleported Alex to Zeke
[21:14:07] Saving the game (this may take a moment!)
[21:14:08] Saved the game
> tp Alex Zeke
Backups and schedules

Undo a bad afternoon

Take a full snapshot of the world and your config before you try something, and restore it in a click if it does not work out. Set a nightly restart so the server is fresh in the morning without anyone having to remember.

  • Snapshots stored away from your server's machine
  • Restore or delete any backup from the panel
  • Restarts and commands on a schedule you choose

Questions

The things people ask first

How do I pay, and can I cancel?

Monthly by card. You can cancel from your account at any time and the server keeps running until the end of the month you have already paid for.

Where are the servers?

In Australia. Your server runs on our own machines in Victoria, and players connect through our server in Sydney. We run them on a home internet connection rather than in a big data centre, which is part of how we keep prices low. That also means we can't promise perfect uptime, and if something goes down we post about it on our Discord.

Do I need to make an account?

No. You sign in with the Google account you already have, and that account owns your servers. There is no separate password.

How long until my server is ready?

Usually a few minutes. We have to create it, fetch the server files and generate the world before you can join. You will see it go from building to running in your account.

Can my friends help run the server?

Yes. Give another account access to one of your servers and leave the rest alone. Admins get the same controls you do, and you can take access back at any time.

Can I run mods or plugins?

On the server types that support them, yes, and you can search and install from inside the panel. A plain vanilla server cannot load them at all, and the panel tells you that rather than letting you install something that will never run.

What happens if a payment fails?

We pause the server rather than delete it. Your world stays where it is while you sort the card out, and the server starts again once the payment goes through.

Is this the same thing as the LunaLink Discord bot?

No, but they are run by the same person. LunaLink is a Discord bot for finding people to play with. LunaHost is where you rent the server, and Luna Panel is the window you run it from.

Ready when you are

Pick a size, give it a name, and we will have it running in a few minutes.

Part of LunaLink

LunaHost is run by the same person behind LunaLink, the Discord bot that helps players find each other across servers.
